Advanced Literature Searching - Getting started (held in A004)

Aim

The aim of this session is to introduce a range of search strategies and techniques that can be used to find information from University of Suffolk databases so that effective searching is undertaken.

The workshop is not targetted at specific subjects and will take a broad approach.   If you are a Nursing student undertaking a systematic literature review the workshop will offer advice on techniques that can be applied when searching, but won't provide information about how to document your search and individual steps involved.   Please see the Advanced Literature Search guide to find out more about these aspects of your search, access here.

During the workshop we will:

Explore the range of resources available to you
Introduce search techniques such as using boolean operators, truncation, phrase searching.
Investigate ways to manage your resources

This workshop is aimed at students who have had some experience of searching
