AI and Assessment Workshop

The use of artificial intelligence tools, such as ChatGPT, in student assessment have risen in prevalence over the last year. These tools' abilities to produce convincing has raised questions about the robustness of written assessment in higher education. While AI tools ultimately require a radical rethink of assessment strategies, this webinar focuses on the practicalities of what to do when encountering student work where the use of AI tools is suspected. The focus is on using the university's existing policies and assessment regulations which are already well-equipped to address such cases in a supportive and developmental way for students, while nevertheless maintaining academic rigour and quality.
