Using artificial intelligence for assignments (in-person)

Introduction

With the rise of a new generation of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and the introduction of generative AI, it can be confusing to understand how these tools work and how you can use them in your academic studies. Come along to this interactive workshop designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills for using various AI tools effectively and ethically in your coursework.

This workshop will cover using AI for brainstorming, planning, structuring, and proofreading assignments.

PLEASE NOTE: These workshops cover best practice and provide you with practical tips for getting the most out of AI, but you should always talk to your module leader or personal tutor before using AI for or in your coursework.

By the end of this session you will;

  1. Develop an understanding of how generative AI works to write more effective prompts
  2. Get practical ideas for using AI in coursework to save time and support learning
  3. Learn how to reference AI and use it ethically to avoid plagiarism and academic misconduct
